Star Trek: Shiawassee
A word about Star Trek role playing game systems Star Trek has been published under different game systems through the years. In the eighties, it was published by FASA. The ICON rules were first published in 1998 by Last Unicorn Games (LUG) as the Star Trek The Next Generation Role playing Game. Although Last Unicorn Games was bought out by Wizards of the Coast in 2000, ICON still enjoys popularity, and has some excellent support on the web. Decipher also published a version of the Star Trek Role Playing Game using a system called CODA (also used in its Lord of the Rings role playing game). I choose to use the ICON rules. It is a D6 based rules system, with easy to grasp mechanics and a cinematic feel to it. Copies of the Core rule books for Star Trek, Star Trek The Next Generation, and Star Trek Deep Space Nine role playing games published by Last Unicorn Games can still be found in used game stores and on Ebay.
